About

Engineer, owner, and mentor

I’m a software developer with 7+ years of experience, including more than five years as the sole engineer building the technology platform for an early-stage robotics company.

My work spans a cloud marketplace for recipes and orders and an on-premises kitchen platform that coordinates equipment and recipe execution. I’ve owned architecture, frontend and backend development, and production operations across both products.

Platforms behind the product

At Wish and Cook, I built and operated connected software across the customer marketplace and on-premises kitchen operations.

Customer experience · Cloud platform

A marketplace shaped by kitchen availability

Built at Wish and Cook Lda

A cloud platform for recipe discovery, customization, and ordering. It connects customer and creator accounts, shop inventory, kitchen capacity, payment, and live order progress so customers can choose meals that a selected kitchen can prepare.

Technology stack

  • Django
  • Django REST Framework
  • React
  • Next.js
  • Celery
  • RabbitMQ
  • Redis
  • WebSockets

Kitchen operations · On-premises platform

LLM assistant in development

Turning marketplace orders into kitchen actions

Built at Wish and Cook Lda

An on-premises system that receives marketplace orders and coordinates kitchen staff, inventory, suppliers, and connected equipment. Its execution engine translates recipes into scheduled actions, tracks progress, and communicates with devices while supporting recovery from interruptions.

Experience

Where I've worked

  1. Software Developer · Wish and Cook Lda

    March 2021 – Present

    Aveiro, Portugal

Sole engineer for more than five years, responsible for architecture, full-stack development, and production operations, while mentoring engineers on the codebase.

    Selected contributions

    • Built and operated connected cloud marketplace and on-premises kitchen management products.
    • Improved execution-state updates to near real time and added Redis-backed recovery for interruptions.
    • Fixed a production race in equipment booking with atomic updates and PostgreSQL row-level locking.
    Read responsibilities +
    • Designed reliable asynchronous order orchestration with Django, Celery, RabbitMQ, and Redis, including per-kitchen queues, idempotent processing, and retry and recovery workflows.
    • Designed the marketplace to support role-based accounts, recipe customization, nutritional information, shop and time-slot ordering, and dynamic delivery.
    • Built capacity-aware reservations and temporary cart holds to help prevent overselling kitchen availability.
    • Built role-based frontends for both platforms with React, Next.js, Redux, NextAuth, Next-intl, and TailwindCSS, including live availability and order updates through WebSockets.
    • Developed the kitchen execution engine with NestJS, translating recipe steps into sequenced, dependency-aware actions for connected equipment.
    • Designed a hybrid in-memory and Redis-backed state store for responsive execution tracking and recovery after interruptions.
    • Resolved a production race that could cause duplicate equipment bookings using atomic updates and PostgreSQL row-level locking; added bounded retries and dead-letter routing.
    • Owned deployment and operations with Docker and Nginx, introduced Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and Alloy observability, and implemented GitHub Actions CI/CD.
    • Established unit and end-to-end testing practices across application and database behavior, and mentored engineers on the system architecture.
    • Currently developing a role-aware LLM assistant for operational questions and platform navigation using tool calling and WebSockets.
  2. Web Developer · Web Nest Ltd

    January 2017 – June 2018

    Sylhet, Bangladesh

Built responsive, cross-browser websites from design templates and developed custom WordPress themes for client projects.
